Having led the Security Institute through five years of exponential growth, Rick Mounfield MSc CSyP RISC FSyI chose to return to the security consultancy sector, joining Optimal Risk Group as a Director in 2022.

His role is multi-dimensional. One focus is Optimal Risk’s Strategic growth and the other is helping its clients manage security risk. These clients are multinational companies, predominantly in the technical innovation sectors and critical national infrastructure, with CSOs that value the peer-to-peer partnership that helps them consider diverse risk management strategies.

After five years of Influencing the UK Security Industry with the Security Institute and more recent application of vast knowledge gained in that five-year period, Rick’s experience and practical perspectives provide the infrastructure for a conference that will challenge, harness and enhance thought leadership.

Letitia is the ASIS UK Chapter Chair and Global Security Capability Manager at Unilever.

Letitia has been active in security since 2001 and qualified with her ASIS PSP in December 2007, IT Governance CISMP in 2014 and ASIS CPP in 2017. 

She previously held leadership positions at Tesla, Amazon and Lloyds Banking Group.

Letitia is a passionate advocate for putting “people” at the heart of her work and works hard to promote diversity in its broadest sense. She was core to the establishment of Women’s Security groups in Amazon, Tesla and Unilever.

Letitia’s background in global security gives her a broad appreciation of the multifaceted elements for supplier capability, corporate thinking, changing threats and new technologies. She is also able to connect this with the latest thinking on coaching, facilitation, and innovation to maximise the success of capability.

Fiona is the Director of International Security for Warner Bros Studio Tours in London and Tokyo, the Making of Harry Potter and previously held responsibility for security of the film studio at Warner Bros Studio London.  She was privileged to have been involved with the design and implementation of the security procedures for the opening of the Tour in Tokyo which she now has responsibility for.

A passionate believer in self-development and developing others, Fiona completed both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Law while serving as a senior police officer which saw her specialising in investigation, safeguarding, professional standards and high-risk commands. She is also proud to have been a founding co-chair of a women’s network.

As Director of the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) in the UK and a member of its Global Advisory Board, Mike has, with the support of the UK Advisory Board, championed professional certification, education and career pathway opportunities for frontline security officers.  He also writes and speaks on Mental Health and Wellbeing challenges.

She represents the UKCMA on numerous consultation committees and is currently working on a cross-industry initiative ‘Crowd Management Good Practice. Supporting Documentation for Performance and Licensed Spaces in the United Kingdom’ which is due to launch in spring 2024.

As part of her role within PerpetuityARC, Keeva offers tutor support to Learners and conducts Internal Verification for various Awarding Bodies.

Keeva studied Criminology and Sociology at the University of Stirling, achieving a BA (Hons). She went on to complete her MSc in International Security and Risk Management at the University of South Wales, achieving a Distinction.

Keeva holds a range of internal verification and training qualifications and has a real passion for helping individuals to meet their personal and professional training objectives.

As a highly respected commercial security expert, Bhanu identifies the security risks and threats through an in-depth risk analysis specific to each client. This allows him to propose a comprehensive electronic security solution and strategy to deploy the identified solution.  

Bhanu is also the Founder of end user security interest group – Public Space Security (PSS), which provides a platform for senior executives to share knowledge and assist each other in identifying the risk mitigation strategies, operations and electronic systems best suitable to their individual organisations.

In her role, she regularly collaborates with experts, leading companies and top manufacturers to bring the latest security news and updates emerging from the Americas security industry to professionals in the sector. Victoria particularly enjoys connecting with the sector at industry events and discovering the newest innovations and developments.

She previously held a role as the Editor of a B2B magazine covering the drug discovery and pharmaceutical industries. Victoria has a degree in English and American Literature from the University of Kent, where she realised her love of editing while volunteering for the student news publication.

Peter holds a BSc in Management Science, a Level 5 Certificate in Crowd Safety Management, a Level 6 Diploma in Counter Terrorism Risk Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Lancaster University.

Peter has served as a Reservist with the Royal Marine Commandos since 2008. He regularly competes in running races and triathlons, and his mountaineering adventures have seen him climb some of the highest mountains across Europe and Africa including Mont Blanc, Toubkal, and Hvannadalshnjúkur.

Norman Heit is the Group Corporate Security & Resilience Director at Vodafone. Prior, he worked for Boehringer Ingelheim as Head of Global Security Management and Head of Corporate Crisis Management at Bayer AG.

Before moving into the private industry, Norman spent 13 years in the German police force, held various roles and served as liaison officer/ strategic advisor to NATO in Afghanistan.

He has studied Security Management, Criminology and Police Science, and Public Administration and is lecturing Security Management at the University of Applied Science Saarland.

Since 2021 Norman is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Transported Asset Protection Association (EMEA).

Philip Ingram MBE BSc MA is a journalist specialising in the security, counter terror, cyber, defence and intelligence arenas. His knowledge is built from a long and senior military career as an intelligence and security officer and strategic planner with business experience at board level starting in the steel industry and now the media industry.  

Philip runs his own media company, Grey Hare Media, and specialises in delivering informed content.

Philip is frequently on Sky News, Talk TV, BBC TV, GB News and other global networks. He has presented INTERPOL World TV in Singapore in 2015, 2017 and in 2019 and has been part of a number of documentaries for various channels. He is also seen in print for UK and global newspapers with by-lined articles and frequent quotes and writes regularly for the security trade press.

A subject matter expert in extremism, Guy lectures on the threat posed by extremism and activism and has conducted several risk and security reviews for organisations in the research, academic and pharmaceutical sectors.

Guy was Chair of The UK Pharmaceutical Industry Security Forum from 2009 2014.

A Fellow of the Security Institute, he served a six-year elected period as Validation Board Chair & Strategy Director.

In 2017, he was appointed Chair of the Food & Drink Security Association and in 2018, Chair of Eastern Region Cross Sector Safety & Security Cascade (CSSC).

In 2019 he was appointed Chair of The Security Commonwealth. In 2021 he became Immediate Past Chair, continuing to serve on the SyCom Board.

In 2020, Guy was appointed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to its Strategic Forum.

Samantha Newbery

Reader in International Security, University of Salford, Intelligence Analyst and Trainer

Dr Samantha Newbery is a senior academic in international security. Her publications include Terrorist Informers in Northern Ireland (Oxford University Press, forthcoming (2024)), and Interrogation, Intelligence and Security (Manchester University Press, 2015).  

Amongst other publications on a range of security-focused topics is Why Spy? (Hurst, 2015), a book co-authored with former Deputy Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), Brian TW Stewart CMG.  

Dr Newbery also provides consultancy in intelligence and risk analysis, and training in security and counter-terrorism. She is on the editorial board of the Close Protection and Security Journal, the new initiative from the International Protective Security Board that supports professionalisation of the close protection and corporate security industries.

Prior to South Western Railway, Dan served 10 years as a British Transport Police officer. In 2019 he joined Mitie as a Regional Operations Manager before moving into the role of National Head of Security.

Gaining significant experience as Editor of Security Journal UK (SJUK), James was internally promoted to Editor of International Security Journal (ISJ) in 2022.

In his current role, James engages with various businesses, consultants and directors working in a range of disciplines across the global security industry. 

As well as working on the monthly editions of ISJ, James plays a key role in the organisation of the company’s ISJ Leaders in Security Conference which made its successful debut in Dubai in May 2022.
